Session Overview:  Turn Your – or your Trainees’ – Experience into a Qualification

This session will cover:   More and more, clients and employers want their training professionals to have a qualification to back up their experience.  At this session you will see the process for turning your life and career experience into a qualification.  Take your CV to the next level!

Capable NZ (the New Zealand Centre for Assessment of Prior Learning) is a unique organisation established by Otago Polytechnic as an evolution of their highly regarded Centre for Assessment of Prior Learning, or CAPL.

Prior learning is a combination of career and life experiences.  Capable NZ provides the opportunity to combine the learning gained throughout a life and career with the credibility of formal academic study and qualifications.  It supports people to achieve a range of qualifications from certificates through to degrees.  The process enables complete qualifications to be assessed and can be customised to meet individual or organisational needs.

About our Presenter:     Robyn Hogan – Facilitator, Capable NZ (Wellington Office)

Robyn HoganRobyn Hogan has an extensive background in education. After graduating from Otago University, Robyn taught at secondary level before moving into community and tertiary education. She has managed a Polytechnic campus, been the director of a national design college, worked for NZQA in auditing and quality assurance and has worked as an education consultant.  As well as now facilitating the recognition of prior learning process, Robyn has also experienced it first hand as a participant so can give us a very thorough insight into the process.
