Learning and Development Advisor

Based within the Council’s People and Performance group, you will be in a position to contribute to Council’s success in the short and longer term and be a key driver in departmental success and community outcomes!

In this role you will develop, coordinate and at times deliver staff Learning and Development programs ensuring that the initiatives achieve their objectives.

You will bring with you a diploma-level qualification in HR or Learning and Development, and at least 4 years’ experience in learning and development or adult learning. You will have demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and facilitating learning programmes; and experience in using an LMS to manage and administer learning records. The ability to pick up systems quickly is a must. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the HR team to refine and implement Council’s L&D Strategy
  • Developing and delivering critical programmes to address business capability needs
  • Refinement of our induction processes
  • Managing third party training providers
  • Responsibility for management of our LMS, and other L&D Projects and initiatives

You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. You will also be friendly and approachable in your manner. Organised by nature, you will plan and prioritise well and your problem solving skills will be excellent.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Tauranga Office. The salary midpoint is expected to be around $70-80,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
