Donation to The Motutapu Restoration Trust
The Auckland branch of the NZATD recently held their Christmas event, with proceeds from the raffle given to The Motutapu Restoration Trust and presented by Peter Henson to Bridget Winstone, Trustee and Volunteer Coordinator for the Trust.
The Trust has been in existence since 1994 and is committed to restoring about 40% of Motutapu islands indigenous forest. The aim is to provide a sanctuary and breeding ground for endangered New Zealand wildlife.
To date about 85 hectares have been planted with a total projected reforestation of 500 hectares. This is an ongoing and highly successful project made possible with the help of thousands of volunteers over the years, and sponsorship from many high profile New Zealand companies.
If you are interested in volunteering, either as an individual or as a company; please contact Belinda Vernon or Bridget Winstone at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, phone 09 524 5072 or 09 522 0919.
