FOCUS OF THE NZATD 2018 RESEARCHER OF THE YEAR AWARD – Applications close 13 April 2018
NZATD, in association with NZATD Education Trust, introduced the L&D Researcher award to recognise the work being done by those who seek to add to our knowledge of adult learning, learning methodologies and assessment through empirical research. Such research may be conducted through tertiary education establishments, industry bodies, or other organisations that recognise the value of widening the understanding of the disciplines and practices that shape our profession.
The winning research is likely to have a focus one of the following, though other research will be considered if its link to learning and development can be established:
- The environment of adult education and workplace learning; and/or
- [One or more of] the psychology / sociology/ philosophy of adult education and workplace learning; and/or
- Adult learning methodologies and practices; and/or
- The relationship between individual and organisational learning between other people related disciplines, e.g. knowledge management, organisational and industrial psychology, organisational development, change management, etc.
The research should have been conducted in New Zealand (e.g. at a NZ academic institution) or have a New Zealand subject/population for its primary research, or if conducted overseas, be completed by a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. Membership of NZATD is not required to place an entry in the awards.
