Competency Framework: Learning Design, Adult Learning
Speaker: Cathy Gillespie
Cathy has come from a scientific background, through teaching, and is now firmly embedded in helping others to apply quality learning design to learning content. In building the business, Cathy has taken Like-Minded through the B Corp Certification process to become the first organisation in New Zealand of its kind to achieve certification. It shows that they run the business ethically and sustainably, while balancing purpose with profit. With at least 25 years’ experience in the learning and development space, she has seen many changes in how organisations develop and manage their learning. Now that face-to-face opportunities are reduced, thanks to the pandemic, she is helping organisations alter the balance of outsourcing with growing internal capability, helps them avoid known pitfalls, and trains learning leaders and their staff to rise to the new challenges. She’s excited to share her thinking on what it takes to create a cohesive and purpose driven team, where the quality of the output is the key focus.
