LearningPlanet is a New Zealand-based microlearning provider that has worked with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) since 2020 to help job seekers build the skills and confidence to enter the contact centre and customer service workforce. In 2026 this partnership continues as part of MSD's Digital Suite of employment-support tools.

The Virtual Contact Centre Programme, delivered with MSD, the Contact Centre Network of New Zealand (CCNNZ) and Phoneplus, has achieved a 93% course completion rate and a 72% job placement rate, with over 400 people employed across more than 100 organisations. Not Your Typical Induction: Designing Belonging Through Change

When 1,300 people join your organisation through a major transition, induction becomes more than a welcome pack and a first-day presentation.

This showcase explores how Auckland Council is reinventing induction through the Kaimahi Experience (KX) programme, using data, human-centred design and organisational insight to create an experience centred on belonging, connection and success. We'll share our journey so far, from launching a redesigned pre-induction experience to establishing Auckland Council's first People Leader Peer Coaching programme, a capability-building initiative designed to create lasting impact long after the transition is complete.

Part innovation story, part learning design case study, this session will appeal to L&D professionals interested in applying bold thinking, leveraging internal expertise, and creating learning solutions that become organisational legacy.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION

Members will be asked to consider amendments to the NZATD Constitution requested by Inland Revenue. The proposed changes:

• remove the provision allowing benefits to Members or their families to alleviate hardship; and
• add a new clause preventing future rule changes that would allow personal financial gain.

The full wording and background are provided in the Constitution Amendment Resolution 2026, which will be available with the AGM papers.

VOTING AND PROXIES

• Only current financial members are entitled to attend, speak and vote at the AGM.
• Each eligible member has one vote.
• Members may vote online during the meeting.
• Members unable to attend may appoint an eligible attendee as their proxy.
• A completed and signed Proxy Form must be received by NZATD before the AGM begins.

Completed Proxy Forms should be emailed to nzatd@nzatd.org.nz.

MEMBER MOTIONS

A member wishing to submit a motion for consideration at the AGM must provide written notice to the National Executive at least 10 Working Days before the meeting.

The notice should include:

• the name of the member submitting it.

Today we are discussing how our professional networks, learning communities, and structured mentoring act as catalysts for our professional growth. You are already part of the NZATD communityor may have included a community as part of your solution design so you already have experience to share. 

Some of the questions we’ll be pondering:

• Thinking about the learning communities you’ve been part of, what made some sustainable and others fade away? 

• How important is trust? 

• What motivates you to share your expertise online rather than just consume content? 

• As new platforms emerge, what will help us adopt technology in ways that genuinely support learning rather than overwhelm it? 

• Looking ahead to 2027, what identity or capability shifts do you anticipate, and how could your networks support that growth?
